Book Tokens are good, no matter what

In the face of concerns over some retail gift vouchers and cards not being honoured, Book Tokens Ltd have reiterated their advice that all their outstanding paper tokens and gift cards are financially guaranteed.

Book Tokens NZ is a standalone business. While it is administered by Booksellers NZ, it has always got enough money in reserve to make good on every valid Book Token or Booksellers gift card in the marketplace.

With recent events in mind, Booksellers NZ CEO Lincoln Gould wants to reassure kiwis who may be concerned about the value of vouchers, “Nothing like this can ever happen to Book Tokens Inc. We will continue to honour every token submitted within the time range of two years from issue.”

While Tokens are only valid from two years now, those from prior to 2011 had no limits placed on their validity – and we have the money to allow these tokens to be honoured, no matter what. If you have just uncovered a $25 token with wild 1970’s patterns, no worries – our participating bookshops will accept it.

We can also assure you that the Booksellers Gift Cards administered through epay, which Bookstores started selling and redeeming in 2013 to allow our booklovers another option when purchasing for their friends and family to use, are guaranteed. While these cards are only valid for 1 year from purchase, they are guaranteed under similiar circumstances as our Book Tokens through epay.

“So our Book Tokens and Gift Cards are secure, no matter what.”
