Auckland Anniversary Day 2016 Poets’ Picnic in the Garden

Monday 1 February

Watch the spectacle of sails from the historic Signalman’s House where the beautiful garden will be open for the public to picnic. You can enjoy the views and browse through the Centre’s collection of literary memorabilia. Local poets and some of the young writers who have taken part in our programmes will read their work.

The Michael King Writers’ Centre is half way up the road to the summit of Takarunga Mt Victoria in Devonport. Park on Kerr Street, or on top of Takarunga Mt Victoria. (Or catch the ferry from the city.)

The open day is hosted by the Friends of the Michael King Writers’ Centre and supported by the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board.
